Not all organisations can afford a Marketing Manager, let alone a Marketing Department and that’s ok! I am firmly of the belief that everything you do in your business is marketing and it is imperative, especially in smaller organisations, that your people have an appreciation of what good marketing is and what they can do in their day to day jobs to enhance customer experience and meet the organisation’s strategic goals.
To give, say, your administration staff an understanding of how they can contribute to the organisation’s marketing effort gives them a sense of ownership over their work and relationships with customers and suppliers. It also gives you their unique perspective on strategic direction. Put simply, an understanding of marketing opens doors for everyone.
For any training or coaching I do with my clients, it is essential that we all have a good working understanding of your organisation, its objectives, marketing environment and clients or stakeholders. This Business & Marketing Review helps make sure everyone is on the same page and helps to focus our collective efforts.
From that point, your organisation can opt for one or both of the following:
a training program for individuals or small groups on relevant marketing communications concepts and how they can put them into practice in their respective roles
a coaching program for individuals - working within agreed objectives (both personal and strategic), I provide coaching (via phone, video call or visit) on a weekly or “as needs” basis for 3-month blocks.
